Wish I had a photo of it, but some soldier at Scholfield Barracks, HI in the mid-'70s was dragracing one painted in his unit colors--a diagonal red/white split.

Most of the soldiers assigned to SB were 25th Infantry (insignia was a red-with-gold-border taro leaf), so this was either a support unit or some other Army unit on post there and then.
I don't recall WHICH diagonal the split was made, or what colors were on what side--was the split from left front to right rear, or from right front to left rear, and which side was red and which was white...isn't read and white the "normal" colors for an Engineering Battalion?

There's also the possibility that the car was painted for unit at a previous post assignment.
