Thanks, but it was 1976, and I won my class and made it through the field to the last six cars when I got beat by the eventual winner. It was a heartbreaker for sure, as Dick Griffin and Don Holben were watching at the finish line and…*PIC*

…it was so close they still couldn’t tell who won. And to make matters worse, NHRA wasn't payng attention to underrated Pintos, and right after this meet they refactored (raised the horsepower rating on) that Pinto engine. What a fun event it was though. A life-time memory for sure. Oh, and I had never driven this car (Don Holben's) until that event.
