Well, several months ago I decided to give up model building for good. I guess that I should have known better. I have been working on 2 cars for the last week..........*PICS*..........

My brother and I drove down to Knoxville to buy him a 1980 El Camino. I decided to build him a model of it for a Christmas and birthday present. The pic of the car in the garage shows its true color.....1980 Chevrolet Biege. Yes, the very first thing he did when we got home was to remove that tacky front license plate.

I bought a 1980 El Camino promo and a 1986 El Camino SS kit to bash together. I am using the wheels/rims from the Old Pro Nova kit. I am currently waiting on the custom mixed correct Beige paint to be delivered.

The other car is a combination of original issue 1970 and 1971 Monte Carlo's. Several years ago I bought a Motor City edition of the 1970 MC missing the chrome parts and the hood glued shut (no engine in the kit anyway , just a block off plate) and I bought an original issue built up 1971 MC that was a poorly built glue bomb. Since my favorite MC is the 1971 because of the grill, I removed the headlight buckets from both bodies and glued the 1971 headlight buckets onto the good 1970 body so that I can have 1971 style headlights, bumpers and grill. I'm going to remove the fender skirts. Now I just have to decide on paint color and what wheels and tires to use on it.

Thanks for looking, comments are welcome.
