Pleats are horizontal on the 59 and vertical on the 60.

Oh! I forgot to mention the real car is a 60 but the only 60 that is out there is kind of a crappy kit so I'm using the 59 and really the biggest difference is the seat pattern goes horizontal on the 60, I may attempt it? *NM*

Maybe you could cut the pleats from the AMT "59" (really a 60) and splice them in.

REVELL 59 CORVETTE MISSION..... Here is why I'm looking for one and that's because I took my stock one out of my collection of Corvette's to build this LeMans Corvette driven by John Fitch. PICS and thanks for looking

IIRC, Replicas and Miniatures had a correct interior for the Revell kit. *NM*

There is an AMT parts pack with the correct wheels Frank instead of those oversize ones .... one and that's because I took my stock one out of my collection of Corvette's to build this LeMans Corvette driven by John Fitch. PICS and thanks for looking *NM*
Recent AMT Cobra 289s have the correct hali's - several of the Monogram/Revell early '60s slot car tires would be good stand ins *NM*
Where can you get old slot car tires? I'm looking for 1/32 tires for a Monogram midget, all that is out there are copies cast in glossy silicone, in one-sided molds *NM*
My perpetual grail
I'm almost certain Emmons' Merc build used AMT Turnpike tires...
I think you're right. Pic of the car I took a few weeks ago in Toledo...
I was there, got a few pics (including someone's '64) but where were those? *NM*
I saw the Emmons '63 Mercury and Revell '59 Corvette on Saturday night....
Aghhh.... I would have stayed just to see those *NM*
What I meant to say... Mark is exactly correct
You wanna see stockpiled tires, I'll show you stockpiled tires! I'm a sucker for tires, small parts, Stylizing extensions, you name it! *NM*
My name is Bob, and I collect ... *NM*

Didn't Revell-Mpmpogram do a NEW slot car a few years ago. Got a Greenwood Corvette body they did!!
Gas filler there because the tank filler could be reached from either side for other tracks(?) *NM*
Thanks Andy that makes a whole lot of sense...... I didn't know that but still seems awkward. That's good to know since I know less than very little about it. I just like building them. *NM*
Frank, those hood louvers look like tank tracks from a "Kangaroo"(British version of a U.S. "Priest") Sherman. I'll go check mine and make sure. *NM*
Never mind!!! *NM*
Correction. Canadian. If the tracks look similar to those lovers, then it was running the CMPB(Canadian Military Pattern) tracks. *NM*
John K., I went and checked and the track pattern is the same as my 3 Sherman's. It is the M7 "Priest" HMC chassis version, and the kit comes with 1 set of Canadian markings(Normandy 1944) and 2 British markings(Italy and Normandy). Sorry, Frank, no louvers. *NM*
By the way, John K., were you thinking of the Sexton? It was made in Canada, by the Montreal Locomotive works starting in 1943, and were built on the Ram chassis, but the majority of the Sextons used the Grizzly Canadian M4A1 Sherman chassis, and it was called the .
Based on what I know, we used ‘Roos too and we used Priests rather than the Sexton. CMP track tended to be found on Shermans and Rams. *NM*
Big Bad John, keep me honest, my man.I don't have any books on the subject, I'm just going by what's on the kit's instruction sheet. I'm not all that knowledgeable on armor, I just build kits that I like. Looking for an American halftrack kit, but they are $$$$$$$$$$, if you
Like you, I have no books so Google search is my friend and I’ve become quite knowledgeable on what the local unit (The Sherbrooke Fusiliers (Rifes in English) used during the Second World War.. FWIW, the Rifles converted from Infantry to Armor before they left Canada. *NM*
My wife and Google are real good friends whereas, Amazon and I are real close. L.O.L. Battle of Britain, Battle of Midway, and the A.V.G. are my main interests in WWII. Some Afrika Korps. Except for my Red Ball Express diorama i plan on building, I prefer no later
Then you'll love the new movie "Midway". Astounding. *NM*
When I go to movies like that, I'm kind of a "rivet counter", for authenticity. In the old "Midway" movie(Henry Fonda, Robert Wagner and so on) a pilot when bombing the Japanese carriers, said "How'd we get so lucky"? How? The Japanese did not have RADAR !! They didn't even
Don't forget Charlton Heston. One of my favorite actors. Also, The Final Countdown with Kirk Dougla (still alive btw!) and James Farentino (RIP) is another favorite of mine. *NM*
Douglas. *NM*
I had to kind of chuckle when Charlton Heston supposedly crashed his aircraft on landing, YET, with that shot up stabilizer, he was able to dive, release his bomb(on the Hiryu), pull out of the dive and fly back to his carrier, then crash ! As on the NFL, "C'mon man" ! *NM*
LOVE The Final Countdown! Zeros versus Tomcats. *NM*
