I finally broke down and got one of those fancy Tamiya painting stands yesterday. Man, I just did not know what I was missing! They work great! In fact I'm thinking of getting a couple more. I always used a bent coat hanger and wondered why someone would want to spend

good money on a painting stand when coat hangers are free. Well, I found out yesterday. With a coat hanger you have to constantly keep moving the body around to get it all painted, and I have dropped a few freshly painted models that way. Also if I forget to tape the body on the hanger or the tape comes off it will fall in the dirt as well (don't ask me how I know that!).

With the paint stand I can put the body on, no need to tape it, then just spin the body around to paint all the sides. Easy peasy! No need to worry about where I'm going to place the wire hanger with the freshly painted body so it won't fall on the floor or touch something else either. (Again, don't ask me how I know this!) With the paint stand I can just move the whole stand over someplace else.

So, all you guys and gals that have one already, you're pretty smart :-) and you should have told me about the benefits of them long ago :-)
