1966 Dodge Monaco 500 restoration with corrections for body inaccuracies....aacon *LINK* *PIC*

This is a restoration of an MPC 1966 Dodge Monaco 500 annual kit that I built over the 1965 Christmas holiday week.

In restoring the kit a few years back, I discovered that the MPC kit had a whole number of body trim inaccuracies, probably owing to Dodge's last minute changes as the 1966 product line started down the assembly line.

I removed the incorrect fender top trim, added the missing hood center split and front bumper to wheel well chrome molding rocker molding, and then stripped and repainted the body in 1966 Code 66-1 Mauve metallic. The interior is finished in a replication of the real car's wicker door trim and seat back panels.
