Hey all. Lifes been crazy this year. Lots of self struggles but that's not why I am posting. Did anyone go to the RTS Model Show in Taunton, MA. and have pics to share? I missed going again this year. Oh well love seeing all your postings. Hope you all have a blessed day. *NM*
I was there 9:30-11am or so. No pics. Not many models on display. *NM*
'32 Chevy delivery engine,,, [PICS]
Re: great idea *NM*
LOVE IT!!! *NM*
I couldn't tell from your pictures but I presume the carburetor is oriented the proper way... *PIC*
Chief Pontiac says oh, heck yes!!!
Love it! Perfect choice. *NM*
That is my plan. *NM*
The Great Train Race - Steamfest 2023 - What are the odds of 4 steam trains together at the same time?
Four?? In WVwr do 6 at a time!!!!
Hey Bruce, that was just down the road from me..well, 400kms down the road..lol....I caught 6 trains a day for 11yrs to get to & from work so am allergic to trains but I could enjoy watching steam trains race...thanks, might checkout this yrs Steamfest...lol. *NM*
Cool Andy! 😀 *NM*
LOOKS LIKE I'M BUSTIN OUT FOLKS!!!!
Awesome. We've never met, but I've been praying for you... *NM*
All right! Good news. *NM*
Good news! *NM*
The Victoria Day Speedfest was very exciting... *LINK*
Been to RIR 3 or 4 times back inna day...very noisy and exciting. Sat in the ESES. *NM*
You're going to have to do some heavy mods or scratchbuilding. It appears to be an aftermarket fiberglass hood to make the '70 look like the '69-style A12 package. The scoop is in the Monogram Super Bee, but that's hood's got a unique rear ridge to it. *NM*
Len Carsner, I sent you an email. *NM*
I'm getting ready to use Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 after wet sanding. I'm applying it by hand. Should I use it in a circular motion or back and forth? Is it possible to apply it with too much pressure, or should I use a light touch ? *NM*
Application of a polish is different for each type of clearcoat. *NM*
What are you polishing? if it's "glass" be REAL careful, as it easily develops stress racks. *NM*
"stress cracks" *NM*
Scratch X or any other polishing compound is by nature, a polishing medium. There should be no need to use force, let it do it's job. If it's not doing what you need it to, you'll need either a polish with more or less abrasive, as appropriate *NM*
Wouldn't do anything different than any other polish... I really like the stuff, esp for a lacquer job
That's my Go-To for bodies. Tamiya wax for windows. *NM*
There's a very good builder who posted here a few times, but sticks mostly to FB who uses it on all of his builds - paint with something in Tamiya that is close to the factory color then hit it with the polish *NM*
Straight Line Satur.....Sunday.......
Lots of good ones. Be neat to do that Cobra II with the MPC Fire Fighter kit *NM*
Thanks for the pics! I saved this pic for reference and noticed that the file named says it is a '51 Chevy. I believe the grill and side trim pieces make it a '52 Chevy if those are original. *NM* *PIC*
I have no idea, but you're right, it's kool. *NM*
Thanks for sharing the PICS! *NM*
Heal up quick! *NM*
MACH WON! I built it my way
ANOTHER bitchen' build, Jim! *NM*
Looks much better with the grille, and more realistic. *NM*
I agree, and nicely done, BTY. *NM*
How does that cammer motor compare to the Ohio George Willys cammer motor? *NM*
Not as good *NM*
Looks great! I like it your way. Nice job. *NM*
Boy, you matched the color to the box art very nicely. *NM*
Nice! *NM*
Re: Looking good *NM*
You really did good R.S.!! *NM*
Nice build R.S. Like what was said earlier great color match to the box! *NM*
Does anyone make decals for this '55 Chev gasser Daly's Machine? *PIC*
Don’t know if anyone makes them currently but if you send pics to STS decals he can create , does foils as well if the one on the door is (looks to be) *NM*
I've not used their decals, are they alps printed ? Are the prices reasonable? *NM*
Not sure if alps , quality is very good tho, thin but opaque if using say a white decal over a red base. Price is dependent on what all is being done but I find it reasonable usually runs $25-$40 on average *NM*
These markings were done by them from pics and measurements I provided *NM* *PIC*
Be glad they caught it early. It can make all the difference. Hope you can whip it soon. *NM*
ICE Patrol *PIC*
Two thumbs up Terry!! *NM*
Neat to see an off-road law enforcement vehicle that's not a normal police or sheriff *NM*
This has probably been covered...but do any of the usual suspects offer slapper bars? Thanks. *NM*
New 78 nova has them *NM*
The new Demon kit has some traction bars. *NM*
Do a search for pictures of 1:1 items for sale. Not hard to scratch a set way better than any kit part! *NM*
The AMT '66 Chevy Nova SS kits have a nice set of slapper bars, too. *NM*
Yes, thanks...I found some in the '66 Grumpy's Toy. *NM*
Easy to scratchbuild, too. *NM*
Hey guys I have not been posting just lurking. Because I've not been feeling feeling so real good. They think I might had a stroke going to have a check on next month *NM*
feel better but if you think you had a stroke you should get checked out sooner then a month *NM*
I've checked out already they think it's in my eye since I'm having problems seeing *NM*
If you truly think it's a stroke, please get yourself in to your doctor/hospital immediately. It's nothing to wait on. *NM*
BIG BIG FAVOR.... Has anyone here built the new MACH-WON F/C? If so and you're not going to use these extra wheels. I have a project that I would love to put these under. PIX
Frank, FYI, those same wheels are in the AMT '69 Galaxie , right down to the missing lug nuts. *NM*
Re: BIG BIG FAVOR.... What project is that in the background? Where'd you find those wheels/tires? *NM*
First and foremost the wheels I need come from the new MACH-WON MUSTANG F/C... Second the 37 Chebby F/C is something I've been working on for about a year and I want to finish it up in the next few weeks for a club build.PIX
Did you mean on the Chebby F/C? Came with the F/C kit from Rev/Mono. Just painted gold then dulled them down with Slixx tire decals or could have been Gofer Decals. *NM*
I was talking about your 37 funny. Slixx or Gofer, hmm... off I go looking to find some. Thank you. BTW, thank you the extra pics of the 37. Looks AWESOME! *NM*
OK, so, then these are NOT exactly the same wheel? ,, Looks exactly the same to me but good to know. *NM* *PIC*
If you put them next to each other, I'd never know which. FWIW, they would look sweet on a street build after stripping the bubblegum chrome *NM*
There are no lug nuts (as previously mentioned). What holds them on (in real life)? Are they replicating something 1:1? *NM*
Spindle mount......a large hex nut. *NM*
That'll work on the front. *NM*
Two of those are in that kit, they're meant to be the front wheels. AMT put some weird ones in some of their early FC kits, the '69 Camaros had a pair from one of the Corvair kits (with 13" tires yet!) *NM*
Steve , those are the same wheels I'm needing. *NM*
Those are actually meant to be the funny car's front wheels. The other ones are the extras (unblocked from the Gas Ronda Mustang and Kenz & Leslie Cougar kits) *NM*
Is this the same chassis as long nose, just ... well, shorter? *NM*
Yes. Same engine, same interior tin. Same parts trees and interior in the two Mustangs, '69 Cougar, and first version '69 Camaro *NM*
I have a longnose body the great "Z" lightly customized by laying down the windshield... might take a bit of work - but knowing the rest is in Mach Won ... it may rise again! *NM*
Well, if I had the kit, I'd give you the wheels.... Maybe one of these guys could step up and help you out. *NM*
Well, Marty, I was thinking Frank would e-mail me. He definitely can have the ones I showed in the pic. *NM*
You have mail. Thanks LOL! *NM*
Reply sent, no worries, *NM*
Thanks Bill!! *NM*
Prayers for the family Dave!! *NM*
Thanks Marty! *NM*
Two thumbs up Terry!! *NM*
I built it my way...
Looks lke it was a fun build ! :-) *NM*
That is cool. I love these sorts of builds. Nice! *NM*
Given some of the photos on George Klass' site, other than the outhouse door, you're not far off! *NM*
Looks silly from here.... Love it nice job. *NM*
Built it your way, and it looks like you had fun doing it. Looks good. *NM*
Imagine that issued as a drag pack with the Mueller hardtop *NM*
You did good R.S.!! *NM*
I got a set from Bruce (Just past away) but I started building a second one but I did find that GLORY YEARS makes them and he has a few listed on ebay. *NM*
Get well my friend. *NM*
Neat stuff... what a variety. *NM*
The '70 Road Runner was a unique body design. Not one body part from any other Mopar is the same. You'll probably have to graft on a scoop from someplace else. *NM*
What about the doors, cowl and roof Bill? '-) *NM*
I guess it is possible, especially the roof , with that curvy back window. *NM*
Yeah, it’s true. I recall back in the day seeing a ‘70 Satellite with a Coronet front clip on it. Cheap crash repair. Everything lined up perfectly. *NM*
Also we can’t forget the Superbird had a Coronet clip on a Road Runner body. *NM*
What I know for sure is that the '70 Road Runner HOOD, fenders, quarters, trunk lid, rear panel, bumpers, and grilles are unique. *NM*
Absolutely! And for me, the nicest of the 3 years of that body style. *NM*
I concur. The '70 was the best looking. *NM*
I had one and I loved it. I sold mine around 1990 , before they were worth big money. Who knew? *NM*
Hmmm....revisiting...that Blue MG # 68 aint too bad either! *NM*
Something a little different for a model, around 2 feet long.......................................PIC's
the missing picture for the link that didn't work
A trick I read somewhere about painting eyes....paint a thin white horizontal strip first, then a thinner black verticle strip, then paint eye lids around these. Works for me. *NM*
yes paint the white first then black, but there faces are so small even with the magnifying glasses on *NM*
Don't use bright white paint. Also, study some actual eyes... you barely see much of the whites normally. And often the upper part of the iris is covered by the lid. *NM* *PIC*
Great article on figure painting: Terry Jesse's "Figure On It", April 1994 Scale Auto (issue 86), think our hosts may still have a copy for sale *NM*
That's pretty cool! Nice work. *NM*
VERY KOOL STUFF..... *NM*
That's good modeling, craig. *NM*
WOW!! *NM*
That came out well. There are companies that make eye decals but I don't know if there are any available in that scale. *NM*
I think Archer did but they're out of business *NM*
The original owner of Archer retired but he ended up selling the business and it is still open. *NM*
The foil trick. Learned that from Don Holthaus. *NM*
Here's another one. *PIC*
Thanks, Terry. Gotta learn to do that---MCG detail sets not always offered for what I want. *NM*
You could have stopped after the Mod Top Barracuda and I would still be happy......
I tried on of the resin caters fot HT but received no response. *NM*
Hope you get well soon. Glad you feel like getting up and at em'. Think that's a good sign. *NM*
