OT POLL: What job did you retire from? Also, if you were to start over, would you choose the same profession? *NM*
I use to design underground subdivisions for electric utility company, setting up contracts, designing, spec'g equipment, everything from A-Z except the physical labor. I loved that job *NM*
Paramedic with City of Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service..On street and answering 911 lines then after stroke asst.Manager of Light fleet vehicles for same service till retirement..Would do it in a heartbeat all over but would eat less greasy chicken and hamburgers and fries

General accounting, mostly as a manager, since 1976. The fun job was 12 yrs in a Ford dealership. Last job was 10yrs in accounting at the Dept of Defense Finance Service. Retired from there at the beginning of 2019. Would do it again, other then the seemingly endless

I went to college for auto mechanics.....but worked....
Environmental test tech....which meant I set up, ran, and wrote the reports on many kinds of vibration, shock, and acceleration tests. For 35 years. I might do it again, but I'd rather be musician in a country or blue grass band. *NM*
Retired (disability) from Nexteer in Saginaw after 5 years....prior to that
Sold packaging materials for 38 years. It stopped being fun when business practices changed. I enjoyed helping people though. *NM*
After 32 years....
Retired from full time civil engineering and land surveying but continue to do consulting on a part time basis. I'd do it again. *NM*

Re: 35 + years in construction building AMERICA, and no I wouldn't do it again as it has caused me back problems, tinnitus, Pulmonary Fibrosis, etc. I really beat up my body. *NM*

I got an AA (you know what that stands for) in middle management. What a mistake. I knew all the dumb things my bosses were doing. *NM*
Spent the majority of my career in middle management. Got quite proficient in resume writing. The last 10 at the DoD was refreshing - a plain old GS11 with no management responsibilites! *NM*

Retired in 2014 as a police sergeant with small town department. Went to work at a small university campus police department two months later, and I'm still here. Second retirement coming this summer I hope, and I'll be hanging it up for good. *NM*
Forgot the second question, I'm not sure I would do it again, given today's political climate. All of my friends and family have always been surprised I didn't go into some kind of automotive field. *NM*
