Here's the rest of the story...

My wife's 2005 Taurus Wagon (Her 4th... Taurus Wagon) is on it's last legs, I figure we'll keep it for one more year... Yesterday, after a few days of using a dual-action sander to completely sand the hood and priming it (the clear had cracked from abuse with a snow-clearing brush), I finally put on the base coat color...

It's the cyanoacrylate laden clear that I'm not too fond of spraying in my shop. I do have a fresh air breathing mask I can use but outside air hovers around -15 Celsius lately, problem is also that even with my HVLP spray gun, there's just too much stuff in my shop right now (my truck project) to get the over-spray from the clear coat. THAT is why I was asking about the Future/Pledge clear... Also because the PPG clear coat I bought is for my truck project... I really don't want to waste it on the Taurus.

If the Future/Pledge was an option, I'd roll on a couple of coats with a sponge roller, the self leveling would give it a good enough look for me... Hey, it's a 14 year old car that has spent 2/3rd's of it's life in the salt encrusted streets of Toronto... I've patched holes in the floor, welded in rear dog-legs on both sides, changed the rocker panels, changed the transmission... Although the car still looks and performs well, I've had it with this car. Come to think of it, after all of this, I still have the rear wiper motor to change/fix...
