I bought ONE Franklin Mint model for the engine and also kept the wheels & tires. *NM*

Main reason I didn't buy many was it was stuff I already had in a kit. Even the ones I did buy (57 300C, 58 Plymouth) ended up as kits.

Do or have Franklin and/or Danbury Mint diecast cars appreciate in value at all? Today I bought an unboxed 1/25 scale '67 Mustang convertible...for $29!
I don't think they do. Generally, anything that comes with a Certificate of Authenticity isn't worth more as the years go on. *NM*
Most of em don't, the airstream trailer gets big dollars on ebay, also had a couple of their pierce snorkel firetrucks that I picked up similar price as that mustang and I sold for good money on ebay -but yeah, as above, things marketed as "colletible" usually dont/arent *NM*
I've bought a few 2nd hand CHEAP!!! *NM*
$29 is a good deal and that's all it is a good deal... to bad most of those may get %60-70 of their value. I've got an 84 Vette I bought for $10 at an antique store and I can't give it away for $20. *NM*
I've got a few I got for steel of deal pricing. *NM*
I don't know... All the ones I want to get go for a lot more than I want to pay... And I'm not a cheapskate by any means... But then, you can't even be sure if the one you're getting doesn't have diecast/paint/rash... *NM*
Again... "I don't know..." just saw a F-M Easy Rider motorcycle listed as a Buy It Now at $330. US... That would be near $500. Canadian before I got it home... *NM*
Oh, and it's 1/10 scale if that makes a difference. *NM*
The formula for figuring out value is pretty simple.......
Dave, that is the exact formula I use. *NM*
Truth. ;-) *NM*
Which means if you want to disassemble one to build it your way, go for it! *NM*
I had a business relationship with Danbury Mint for many years.

Let me guess... 1941 Cadillac for that weirdly exhausted engine? *NM*
Of course. Weirdly exhausted? Cord thought the "weirdly exhaused" Lycoming was OK. Also have one of those planned for a hot rod. One of these days I have to cast that Caddy engine. *NM*
I bought two US Mail delivery trucks ('25 and '31 Fords) for $15 apiece in December. The T had never been out of the box. So much for "increase in value"; the guy who sold them to me paid even less *NM*
