Here's the whole story regarding the Subaru Brat production as well as other "Made in USA" kits…
A round of applause for the American plastics industry. There are a lot of molding shops in the US. *NM*
But... their costs are so high that our $25.00 kits would be closer to $35.00 or even $40.00 kits. *NM*
True, we don't work cheap. I am, however, quite happy see some of that work being done here. *NM*
I know I don't speak for many, but I'm willing to pay extra for an item made in the US. I'm fortunate that I'm able to say that but its preferable, in my mind, to keep people here employed vs other countries. Especially those with dubious practices. When possible,
Well... we have to pay for our 3500sq/ft McMansions, $80k+ full-sized diesel trucks, lastest I-phone models, private schools for our kids, expensive Harley motorcycles and breast implants for our wives. We can't work "cheap" here. *NM*
At the risk of starting an argument..............I drive a '95 Explorer, rent a 1600sq ft house, and have an old iPhone SE. I have more to say, but there are rules here.

I hope to add a vintage driver to my fleet in the next year or so. Probably 40s-50s vintage six banger family car. *NM*
If you don't mind me asking, what are all the years of your 7 vehicles? Pics? *NM*
1932, 1952, 1967, 1994, 1998, 2002 and 2009. Now, I've probably mentioned them all at one time or another, so who can tell me what they are? *NM*

1998 Tahoe, 2009 Ford E250. But that 2002 ? You’ve got me there Tom. *NM*
Okay, Slydawg and Dan, you did good! Actually the van is less than an E-350, but I'm not sure which. The 2002 is a Ford Escape that I inherited when my dad died in 2014. It's far from my choice in a car, but it only had 12,000 miles on it in 2014 and therefore...
Re: 1932? The Deuce? You still have that? Are you happy with...
Yes, I love it. *NM*
Re: Sorry, no mansions here either,.....Still living in the same 1400sq ft house we raised our 5 kids and 3 of the grand kids. 3 more payments and it will be free and clear.....For vehicles......
With what is coming you won't see that much of it in the USA,it will be China.... *NM*
Last company I worked for brought most of their production back from China. The company I work for has a division in China....
RC2 (AMT) tried Mexico for a couple years in the very late 1990 and it was a disaster, hence to move to China. *NM*
A lot of work is (quietly) coming back from China
Oh, the company I shipped to Mexico quietly shuttered the division a year later, having not delivered a single part. *NM*
Well nothing has changed. Just small runs of tools still in the U.S may be made there. If someone wants to do it at competitive prices, they'd be happy to look into it. Like I've said though, it'd be hard to beat the quality we've had for the last 20 years. *NM*
I agree on the quality Tom. Bagged parts, minimal warpage, better decals, and I prefer the quality of the plastic the Round2 kits are produced with, I find it easier to sand and clean up. *NM*
"Made in Kalkaska" ...now there's a country I'm not familar with. :-) *NM*
Ha ha. Let's try Kalkaska, Michigan, where George Totiff had ties. *NM*
